Itinerary of our 2 days Nyungwe Forest National Park
Day 1: From Kigali to Nyungwe, Nyungwe Forest Canopy Walk
Wake up early morning for a briefing about the whole itinerary by our driver/guide who will pick you up from your hotel, residence or airport depending on your arrive time. In case you arrive earlier, you will have a short trip in Kigali city, a city known to be organized and clean in Africa. Your short trip includes a visit to the genocide memorial of 1994 which occurred all over the country, a visit to the genocide memorial is for most visitors on emotional event.
After your short trip continue driving to Nyungwe forest, Along the way you will have a stopover for an opportunity to visit the ethnographic museum in Butara to learn about the Rwanda culture and people.
You might admire and buy yourself a craft, then continue driving to Nyungwe as you enjoy the beautiful scenery of this green and hilly country. Arrive at your lodge and check in, our guide will drive you to Nyungwe forest to enjoy a canopy walk where you might spot out different bird species, primates like black and blue monkeys, l’ hoast’s monkeys, olive baboons, grey cheeked mangabye plant species.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking Nyungwe forest, Retransfer to Kigali
Wake up early morning for a heavy breakfast, our guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about chimpanzee tracking Nyungwe forest, and to meet a game ranger from here the trekking will begin. It will take about 2 hours to locate where the chimpanzees are as you trek through the bamboo forest. Have an experience to see different tree species, birds, hear sounds of chimpanzees screaming to locate their members.
And when you find them you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them, experience their day to day life how they eat, play, groom each other, feed and build their nest. This is quite an interesting experience with the second mammals to human beings.
